Good news and parallel working

Il 2016 non poteva iniziare meglio: a inizio gennaio la Commissione Fondi di Ateneo per la Progettualità Studentesca ha approvato la richiesta del Team e abbiamo il budget per l'upgrade di PulsaR e per tornare a Battle Mountain a settembre con un Team più numeroso!!!

The 2016 could not have start better: at the beginning of January the University Commission for Student Project Activities has approved the Team request and now we have the budget for the PulsaR upgrade and for coming back to Battle Mountain in September with a bigger Team!!!

Al momento il team sta portando avanti (almeno) 4 attività in parallelo:

1. upgrade di PulsaR;
2. prime bozze e simulazioni comparative CFD per il prototipo 2017;
3. sviluppo del sistema di visione per il prototipo 2017 (camera-bike);
4. ... sessione esami!

Il primo punto include: passaruote interni, nuova termoformatura del Plexiglas, guarnitura SRM, ruote nuove e altre piccole modifiche di assetto.

Per il secondo punto si sta procedendo spediti e da diversi approcci in contemporanea (sia modifica del disegno attuale sia disegni totalmente nuovi).​Lato CFD si stanno studiando e sperimentando i metodi di ottimizzazione, partendo dall'approccio Adjoint incluso in StarCCM+ fino all'utilizzo della piattaforma Heeds.

Infine, il Team sarà presente al Carnevale dei Fantaveicoli di Imola in qualità di testimonial, su invito degli organizzatori. Andrea su PulsaR aprirà la sfilata su un breve (e rettilineo) percorso cittadino. Coglieremo anche l'occasione per qualche test sull'Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari.

At the moment, the Team is working on 4 activities in parallel (at least):

1. the PulsaR upgrade;
2. the first drafts and comparative CFD simulations of the 2017 prototype;
3. the development of a vision system for the 2017 prototype (camera-bike);
4. ... exam session!

​The first point includes: internal wheelcovers, new Plexiglas thermoforming, SRM crankset, new wheels and some other small layout changes.

For the second point we are working fast and with different simoultaneous approaches (both edits of the actual shape and totally new design). On the CFD side, optimization methods are being studied and tried, starting from the Adjoint approach embedded in StarCCM+ up to the use of the Heeds platform.

​Finally, the Team will participate to the Carnival of Fantavehicles in Imola as testimonial, invited by the organizers. Andrea on PulsaR will open the parade on a short (and stright) urban road. We will also take the opportunity for some test on the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit.
